21 Jun Mahalo to Four Mermaid Friends and Models!

I am blessed to say my life is full of strong empowered women. I have a long list of incredible women that hold me in a net of love and support. I asked four of them to model my shirts, because I wanted their positive energy involved in this new venture. Having them as models was like receiving a blessing from a circle of Goddesses.

Thank you Lysha, Yasha, Flecha and Christine for volunteering your time and energy to this little dream of mine. You are all beautiful inside and out.

One thing all four of these women have in common is their resilience. They not only have a fierce ability to create lives that lift themselves up, but also the lives of others around them.
They each have moved through challenges in their lives with grace and compassion.
Their personal strength, clarity, creativity and loving hearts are an inspiration to me. These are women that support other women. They are women who are secure in who they are and what they offer this world. They are the women who see a beautiful and talented woman walk through the door and their first thought is “you go girl”, not competition and jealousy.
We are here to raise one another up…this is what Permission Apparel supports…the strong feminine.

CHRISTINE ROBERSON

Christine Roberson is a kick ass free diver, athlete, stargazer and my techie wizard here on Maui…I think she is also a real mermaid.

FLECHA TOVAR

Flecha Tovar
MS. HAWAII America 2015
Flecha is heavily involved in community service, including the local Charter School, Maui Pride, Maui Aids Foundation and raising the issue of foster care and the need for improved services for these children.
Flecha Deluz Tovar’s name is Spanish and it translates to “Arrow of Light.” She held the previous title of Ms. Maui, and won the honor to represent the State as Ms. Hawaii America 2015. She lives here on Maui with her two children Shane and Kora and her 89-year-old father, Esteban. She works as a plastic surgery liaison and patient coordinator, for an aesthetic dermatology practice.

LYSHA KAMISATO WERNIG

Lysha Kamisato Wernig
Born and raised on Maui , Lysha’s passion for Hula and Tahitian dance started at 4 years old. Lysha is a professional dancer at the Old Lahaina Luau and a fitness instructor. She trained under Master Instructor Jean Pierre Marques to earn her certification in Kitaido Yoga.  She was crowned Miss Maui in 2004 with her platform being nutritional and physical education for youth. She is an inspiration to my heart.
